COVID-19 Emergency Situation
With effect from 24th March 2020
In line with current government advice and guidelines, we are currently operating on an emergency-only basis at each of our surgeries in order to protect both our staff and the wider community. We fully understand how worrying this whole situation is for all pet owners.
We must minimise face to face contact between people.
With immediate effect, clients will not be allowed to enter our buildings unless it is deemed essential by a veterinary surgeon.
We have divided our staff into skeleton teams to allow us to continue to deal fully with hospitalised patients and new emergency admissions at each of our three surgeries, whilst minimising any unnecessary contact. Please be aware that if you do need to attend any of our surgeries, additional measures are in place to minimise unnecessary contact.
We are unable to accept requests for routine, non-urgent and non-emergency medicine collections, procedures and treatments until further notice. At this time, this includes the dispensing of routine flea and wormer products as well as non-prescription diets.
We thank everyone for their patience and understanding at this immensely challenging time. It is most certainly not our wish, or choice, to be put in this extremely difficult situation. Each of our staff have families as well who will also be put at increased risk through unnecessary face to face contact with our clients.
If you believe that you have an emergency situation with your pet, please call the normal surgery number. If necessary, you will be able to speak to an AlphaPet veterinary surgeon who will determine the action needed to safeguard the health and welfare of your pet.
Further updates will be posted daily, so please watch this space. As soon as we are safely able to relax some of these necessary measures, we will do so.
